Ep 05 | Should Kids be in Afterschool Activities?
We’ve always been a household that has had our kiddos in activities. Ever since they were 2 they’ve both been involved in sports, dance, theatre, art classes, you name it we’ve tried it.
Different families have different ideas about what’s good or not, so we thought we’d have a conversation about Elinor’s experience, what she likes and doesn’t like.
As always, this is not us trying to tell you what to do or what’s right for your family, but more just an experience that she has gone through and what’s right for her.
We would love your thoughts and feedback over on Instagram!
(1:14) What afterschool activities have Elinor done?
(1:49) What did you like and not like about competitive dance and the schedule?
(3:28) How do you deal with the schedule? Does it feel like its too much?
(4:21) Should parents worry about overscheduling kids?
(6:31) Advice for other kiddos that are looking for something to do.
(7:15) Being busy is a good thing
(8:00) If you’re super bored….

Elinor (daughter) and Sami (mom) were on vacation in Phoenix in March or 2019 when the concept of the mother-daughter podcast was born.
Sami, a digital marketing strategist, was working on her own podcast, when Elinor decided she needed one of her own. When talking about concepts, the idea of having regular chats about life and recording them came up.
And with that, Conversations with My Daughter was born.
Each week, a new topic, and possible life lesson, are brought to you with the hopes it will make you smile, remember conversations with your own mom, and hopefully inspire new conversations with your own children.
